Achieve Your Goals with Wide Meadow Coaching

Ski Fast, Be Fit, Have Fun

About Me

My coaching philosophy focuses on a mix of year-round fitness development and perfecting technique.  I work with athletes on a partnership model where the coach supports the athlete in reaching his or her goals.

I was the head coach of the CSU Juniors program for 15 years.  During that time the club produced seven national Junior champions and in 2012 CSU was the number one Junior club in the nation.  I was named National Domestic Coach of the Year in 2012.  I was also the NENSA Coach of the Year in 2007.

I am a Level 200 certified USSA Coach.

I am also a member of the Toko Technical Team that promotes and supports Toko ski wax.

Partnership Approach

I work with each athlete individually to determine his or her goals.  Then, I work as the athlete's partner in providing all the support necessary for the athlete to achieve those goals.
I provide training plans, training review, recovery monitoring using heart rate data, goal-setting, technique instruction, help with managing the ski fleet, and waxing help.

Goal Setting

We will create a goal pyramid to identify Outcome goals and Process goals.

Technique Development

Nordic skiing requires excellent technique.  I work with athletes both on rollerskis and on snow using video and drills to hone technique to the highest possible skill level.

College Admissions

Ski racing in college can be a great way to make lifelong friends and really participate in a healthy way in college life.  I have helped dozens of young athletes gain admission to top schools where they have enjoyed racing for their college teams.  The photo here shows members of the Harvard, Williams, and UNH teams that I coached in their high school years.
